M’sian supervisor reveals that his intern had sent a one liner e-mail to apply for leave
Just recently, a Malaysian named Zizan has shared his experience he had with his intern onto his socials. In his tweet, he revealed that an intern of his has decided to ask him for permission to apply for leave. It appears that the intern had messaged him on WhatsApp to ask if he could apply for a day off.
Zizan then replied the intern saying that he has granted his request but has told him to send in an e-mail to him and the intern’s immediate supervisor to inform him of the said request. Subsequently, Zizan received the e-mail from the intern but as he opened the e-mail, he was slightly taken aback by it.
In the e-mail sent, the intern had dropped a one liner informing both him and his immediate supervisor that he will be on leave on Friday.
“I felt disappointed to see that e-mail”, emphasising that he has spoken to intern about the importance of effective and professional communication.
Speaking to Wau Post, Zizan, who runs a production company shares that the reason he posted the issue out was because he wanted people to understand the importance of professional communication. He said that he did not name and shame the intern because he has guided him but wanted to post this incident as a reminder to those who are interning to understand the importance of professional communication.
“Many have criticised me for posting this, but I stand firm in believing that there’s a takeaway for all of us here”, he said.
