We all strive to reach the point in life where we are able to make a living for ourselves while contributing back to society in whatever way we can. While many of us had a great start, there are others who are still fighting to reach there. However, that did not stop Daniel, a Malaysian diagnosed with cerebral palsy, from striving to achieve both by opening his own business and giving back to the people in need.
Cerebral palsy patient sells biscuits to pay for rent
Daniel, who was diagnosed with his condition as a baby, is now hoping to drum up sales for his cookies in order to make ends meet. The disability weakened his one arm and one leg, therefore he has to depend on his remaining limbs to do all the work.
Although he has trouble carrying out some day-to-day tasks, that has not stopped him from establishing his own business. He started selling biscuits under “Daniel Beeskut” brand almost two years ago during MCO 2.0 as a means of supporting himself.
He revealed on his Instagram account that this business is his only source of income.
“Every purchase means a lot to me as I need to pay my bills, monthly house rental, buy food and stocks etc.”
However in the present day, he is facing difficulties paying off his rent due to inconsistent sales in his business. He currently owes two months in arrears. In which case, there has never been a better time to show a small local business some support, while also enjoying some tasty treats while we’re at it! In fact, you can even buy his cookies in bulk to donate them to other orphanages, with the proceeds generated can alleviate his living expenses.
“Although I will be slow in packaging due to my condition, not to worry because your order will be wrapped and delivered safely to you,” he wrote.
Spreading positivity through biscuits
Even though he is having some difficulties accumulating money for rental, Daniel remains a positive person who appreciates every customer he came across. He even personally delivered his biscuits to nearby customers, and has never failed to show his appreciation and thank each buyer for their support.
He remains incredibly resolute and insists that he isn’t looking for compassion but for a way to keep supporting himself independently.
“I do not need any sympathy or fame, but only your support towards my small business.”
Show your support to Daniel by purchasing his delicious biscuits, priced at RM30 (big container) and RM20 (medium container).
