Just over 5 days ago, Zoo Negara was hit by flash floods, causing a chaotic scene at the zoo. The flash flood lasted for over an hour and while it was less severe, the impact remains significant.
Flash flood hits Zoo Negara, volunteers gather round to help with the cleanup process
Following the incident, Zoo Negara vice-president Rosly@Rahmat Ahmat Lana posted a TikTok about the incident, sharing that the authorities along with some volunteers have come together to help clean up the zoo.

As the flash flood hits, the workers scrambled on to save the affected animals, ensuring their safety. However, one of the capybaras at the enclosure was reported to be missing. Upon finding out that one of the capybaras have escaped their enclosure, Rosly headed over to the enclosure to understand the situation better.
Thankfully, they were able to locate the capybara and bring it to safety, but they realised that Oyen, the cat living in the capybara enclosure has also gone missing.

“We don’t stop until we find it!”, said Rosly to the other volunteer workers and employees as they started looking around for the sight of Oyen.
Fortunately, within a few minutes of searching, they were able to catch a glimpse of the orange feline, wandering about the fence. After rescuing the animals and ensuring their safety, the cleaning process commenced. With the help of the volunteers and authorities, they were able to clean up the space and move the animals back to their enclosure.
