Cafe in Kuantan sells cakes for RM1
Just recently, a cafe in Kuantan has been making waves on social media for offering their cakes at RM1 per slice. According to local newspaper Sinar Harian, Noraliza Kamaruddin is a 42-year-old woman who runs a small cafe, Raziq Cafe in Kuantan. The woman is also a loving mother to five children and believes in giving back to the society.
“I’m happy to see that the less fortunate are also able to enjoy desserts”, she said.
While facing the increase of prices in raw materials, Noraliza remains certain that she’d want to sell her sliced cakes at RM1 to benefit the community. She believes that everyone deserves the chance to indulge in desserts and is happy to see people patronising her cafe.
“It makes me happy to see that even the less fortunate are able to taste my desserts”, she mentioned.
Giving back to society, a slice of cake at a time
The compassionate woman shared that not everyone can afford to indulge in desserts, and she wants to be able to help those who are in need. As a mother herself, she wanted other families, especially those with plenty of kids to be able to afford desserts for them. Ever since she started her initiative to sell her sliced cakes at RM1, Noraliza shares that many housewives have frequented her cafe.
“I sell RM1 for a slice and RM36 for a whole cake”, she shared.
Following her initiative, Noraliza shares that she bakes about 40 cakes with 13 different flavours daily. When ask about slices sold, Noraliza reveals that she would sell out at least 17 whole cakes.
“This is my way of giving back to the society and I hope it helps the society”, she mentioned.
