For many Malaysians, the cartoon series, Tom and Jerry is a classic show that they watch when they were growing up. With that said, the cartoon series definitely brings back plenty of childhood memories, reminding them of the simple times and joy back then.
Brand new Tom & Jerry series features durian in their first episode!
Following that, the reboot of the series is finally on screen with the first episode premiering worldwide yesterday (7 August). While this may seem like a normal reboot of the cartoon plenty of Southeast Asians were surprised to see that the first episode features a famous fruit- durian.
The first episode that’s titled “What’s that smell“, describes how one cat’s treasure could be another mouse’s poison. Throughout the episode, the duo was stuck in a pickle as Tom enjoyed the taste while Jerry couldn’t take the smell. The brand-new Tom and Jerry series features 7 episodes and was produced in Singapore.
It was said that the new series is a collaboration between Warner Bros. Animation and Singapore Tourism Board where they’re aiming to encourage tourists to visit Singapore. All 7 episodes of the series would include the duo adventuring Singapore, traversing colourful neighbourhoods, modern skyscrapers and rich urban experiences.
Other than that, in conjunction with international cat’s day (8 august), Cartoon Network has also prepared a series of cat related content to be scheduled in their programme! That being said, audience can expect a plethora of cartoons such as “Happy Cartoon”, “Forrest Gump”, “Tom and Jerry in New York”, and “Unicorn”.
