Apartment security guard reveals that he received over 347 angpaos in 4 days!

Chinese New Year, also known as Lunar New Year or Spring Festival, is one of the most significant and widely celebrated holidays in Chinese culture. One of the traditions that’s widely practiced during Chinese New Year is the giving of red packets, otherwise known as angpaos. Just recently, a security guard’s confession has gone viral as people were shocked to find out how much angpaos he has received for the past few days.

 Security guard reveals that he received over 347 angpaos in 4 days!

According to local newspaper China Press, an apartment security guard’s daughter from Hong Kong revealed that her dad has received a total of 347 angpaos in just 4 days! Sharing that her dad’s “achievement” online, the woman mentioned that her dad received 190 angpaos on the first day of Lunar New Year!

“He took a day off the next day, but proceeded to receive 64, 45 and 48 red packets on day 3, 4 and 5”, she said.

Prior to this, she mentioned that her dad has decided to switch his career and become an apartment security guard. Receiving a substantial amount of angpaos, her father shared that he has never received that many red packets throughout the course of his life.

“They work on a rotational shift basis, so he was tasked to work on the first day of Lunar New Year”, she mentioned.

Following her story, some netizens have commented sharing that he must’ve been a responsible security guard who does his job well. Here’s what some of them said:
