Angry food delivery rider throws drink at Penang restaurant worker after being replaced for being late

We have all experienced bad days at work at some point in our professional lives, when things just don’t go your way and everything goes pear shaped. With that said, it is important that we learn to temper our emotions and retain some sense of professionalism at all times when on the clock.

But that axiom appears to have eluded one delivery rider, who resorted to lashing out at the employee of a local restaurant to express his dissatisfaction over a work arrangement. As shared by FUMI HONEY HOUSE to their Facebook page just one day ago, they explained that at the time, they were waiting on a rider from local food delivery service FoodPanda to arrive at their shop to collect an order.

However, after waiting for around 30 minutes to no avail, they decided to notify the company’s delivery system about the delay, which led to another rider to be arranged to complete the delivery instead.

To their surprise, the previous rider who did not show up then arrived at their store with a friend. Apparently enraged by the shop’s decision to replace him, the irate man began arguing with a member of their staff before throwing beverages at her, leaving her terrified and in tears.

Seeking justice for their employee

When a member of the store’s management urged the man to calm down and to talk things out, the rider simply ignored the advice and proceeded to once again, turn to violence by throwing a menu at them. What’s more, he even threatened them to call the police before telling the staff that he only lived behind their shop.

Consequently, they attempted to get the police involved over the matter.

“Unfortunately, they said no one was injured, and nothing was damaged in the store. Therefore, they could not take any action and only filed a report. No police officer has contacted us to follow up on the situation!” they claimed.

Understandably, the shop is now seeking for justice for their female employee after the ordeal. They also hope that the delivery rider in question will face the appropriate consequences for his undue aggression at their store.

With that said, the management of FUMI HONEY HOUSE says that they appreciate the efforts that all other delivery riders go through to complete their deliveries and offer all-day discounts to them as a token of appreciation, before pointing out that rude riders are only in the minority.
