As the cost-of-living rises, plenty of Malaysians would choose to leave their hometowns and seek jobs at other states. Just recently a great initiative has been launched by the Youth and Sports Minister, Hannah Yeoh, in hopes of helping the youths and jobseekers in Malaysia to elevate their burden.
A great initiative: Hannah Yeoh launches RM10 per day accommodation plan
Announcing the new initiative onto her Facebook, Hannah Yeoh has launched the Youth Capsule, better known as Y-Capsule that’s located at the International Youth Centre (IYC Residences) in Cheras. Following the launch, this initiative is aimed at helping those who have just moved into the city and are seeking employment.
In accordance with the initiative, the IYC Residences have prepared five dormitories with fifty-four beds and full facilities that includes cooking, internet access and self-service laundry. And to top it off, jobseekers who wish to live there would only need to pay a fee of RM10 per day.
“We hope that this initiative would encourage more youngsters to step out of their comfort zone”, she said.
She also mentioned that she hopes that this initiative could further encourage those in rural areas to move into the city and seek for better employment opportunities. However, it’s worth noting that the capsule is only available to Malaysians who are within the age of 18-40 and are actively seeking for employment or found a job but has no accommodation.
In addition to that, interns and industrial trainees are also allowed to stay in the capsule, as a means to help them lighten their financial burden.
What a great initiative from the government and we hope this initiative would encourage the youths to step out of their comfort zone!
