According to a video posted by @wuq_fendy, he shared a video of a teacher patiently guiding 3 students in Sepak Takraw. Taking place at the Jempol MSSD L15, at SMK (f) Lui Barat the team was led by a teacher named cikgu Affandi Bin Abd Rahman from SMK Bahau 2. A heritage sport in Malaysia, meant for Malaysians
Sharing his passion for Sepak Takraw, the teacher is definitely happy that he was able to pass on the knowledge and culture of Sepak Takraw to the younger generation.
“We love encouraging Malaysians to try out Sepak Takraw, regardless of their race. It’s a challenging sport for sure, but it helps train your whole-body coordination”, he said.
When asked for his advice to those who are interested in Sepak Takraw, he mentioned,
“You must be discipline. You can’t expect to be good at something you don’t put effort in.”
On top of that, he also encouraged those who are interested to find the right coach that suits their needs. But most importantly, he urged for those that are interested to always enjoy the game.
“Don’t put too much pressure about winning or losing the match. If you’re only focused on winning, the passion, fun and fulfillment you get when playing the sport would slowly diminish”, he said.
As the video goes viral online, many netizens cheered on for the teacher and the boys. Here’s what some of them said:
“Quite proud to see this. We rarely have Chinese or Indian players when it comes to Sepak Takraw. Also proud of the teacher who trained them.”
“I’m happy to see this. Let all the races try all the sports events, we shouldn’t limit it.”
“Well done teacher! This is what we want to see. Doesn’t matter what race you are, we grow and rise on top together.”
