Malaysia is a country filled with a wide variety of food options. With that said, Malaysia becomes one of the must visit countries for many travelers. Just recently, a foreign student studying in Malaysia has shared a rather hilarious incident onto her social media. It seems like she had accidentally steamed the frozen curry puffs that she bought!
Foreign student accidentally steams frozen curry puffs
According to a post by Mia on Xiao Hong Shu, she shared a picture of her enjoying what seemed like dumplings in her bowl. However, upon looking closely, it turned out to be curry puffs, a local snack enjoyed by many! Speaking to Wau Post, Mia shared that she wasn’t aware that the curry puffs were supposed to be fried.
“I bought the curry puffs awhile back and had to keep them in the fridge”, she said.
As she was organising her fridge, she was aware that her fridge had limited space, so she unboxed her curry puffs and placed it in a different container. Seeing that it looked just like dumplings, she decided to steam it and give it a try. As she eats it, she was surprised to find out that the pastry wrapping the fillings were rather thick.
In her post she wrote,
“It tastes pretty good, but the skin is quite thick.”
Sharing her post onto social media, many Malaysians were quick to comment on her post, correcting her that the right way to enjoy curry puffs would be frying it and not steaming it.
“Malaysians finally understand the pain Italians felt when they saw pineapples on pizza.”
“I laughed at this for too long, I’m so sorry.”
“Is there a possibility that you’re supposed to fry it?”
Truly a hilarious mistake, but regardless of it, we’re happy to see that she enjoyed it.
