As parents you’d naturally think that your child would somewhat be in good hands as there are rules and teachers to help guide the children. However for this mother, she was shocked to find out that her 8-year-old daughter has been gambling in school.
M’sian shocked that her 8yo daughter earned over RM1.5k from gambling at school
According to an anonymous post on Facebook, a mother has shared her worries online, revealing that her daughter has been gambling in school and winning over RM1,500 from it. For context, the mother shared that her daughter is in an international school and most of the students who are enrolled in the school have parents with high income.

“My child gets RM50 a week to spend but her schoolmates get about RM100 a week”, she said.
She shared that as she took her daughter to a mall located in Penang, her daughter saw a school bag that she really liked and wanted to purchase it. Looking at the price tag, she was shocked to find that the bag costs RM899. Seeing that the price is extremely steep, she suggested to her daughter that the shop elsewhere and she could choose her own bags. However, before she could finish her sentence, her daughter cut her off by saying that she can afford the RM899 bag.

“Mom, I have the money”, said her daughter, as she proceeds to take money out from her bag.
Feeling shocked, she discovered that her daughter has over RM1,500 and upon understanding, she found out that her 8-year-old daughter has won the money from gabling in school. Probing further, the daughter told her that she is a “banker” at “big and small” bets. The daughter was very excited to tell her how she earned the money, but on the contrary, she is worried of her child.
