Birthdays are definitely a joyous occasion as it’s one of the times where your family and friends would gather round to celebrate you. With that said, plenty of people would then plan the perfect celebration in hopes that their loved ones would feel special. Just yesterday (May 1), former national shuttler, Dato Lee Chong Wei has shared a rather heartfelt message to his wife on his socials.

In his post, Dato Lee Chong Wei took a trip down memory lane, as he remembers the good times spent with his wife Mew Choo. He shared that back when they were still teenagers in school, he would only a bring a pillow in his bag and had to ask for his classmate to lend him stationaries when in class.

“I would kick her chair to grab her attention and ask her for stationaries like pen and paper”, he said.
He then revealed that the girl sitting in front of her was Mew Choo and despite his multiple attempts to ask her to be his girlfriend, he was always rejected by her. He explained saying that the reason she would reject his advances was because she was in the midst of her SPM examinations.
However, the multiple rejections did not dampen his spirits and he was persistent in pursuing Mew Choo. He shared that he would always for her at the stairwells in her hostel just to spend some time with her, not forgetting to hold her hands and dash through the stairs when they hear outsiders nearing the stairway.

As he recalled, he mentioned that he had kept his relationship private for 8 years to protect her from media and family pressure. He was able to marry her and be a dad to three kids with her and if he could turn back time, he wouldn’t have changed a single thing as he loves her so much, truly.
“Happy birthday to my dearest wife, you’re forever 20 in my heart, just like how I’ve first met you. Your sacrifice to make sure our family is well and healthy with no time to rest as we have a third child now. Thank you for taking care of us and you’ll always be the princess in our lives”, he said.
His tear-jerking post has since garnered over 22,000 likes on Facebook with plenty of netizens offering their well wishes to his wife, Mew Choo.
