Saving is a habit that one should try to cultivate as it plays an important part in ensuring that your livelihood can be taken care of. With that said, over the years many people have come up with different yet effective ways to save up. Just recently, a Malaysian has gone viral for saving up coins in a huge water bottle.
“7 years of saving”, M’sian saves up enough coins to buy an iPhone 14!
As the bottle was filled to the brim, they had no choice but to slowly cut the bottle open. After emptying the bottle, they proceeded to empty out a few more bags and a small plastic container.
However, emptying the bottles and containers were the easy part and they’d have to move on to the harder part of the routine, which was to count how much did they save over the years.
After separating the coins based on their value, they managed to stack up 6 piles of coins. In their caption, they shared that the coins they saved were only of RM0.50 and after a good three hours of counting, with the help of 4 individuals, they managed to save a whopping total of RM5360! Following his saving journey, Muhammad Hafiz Abdul Hamid shared that he actually never expected to save that much money.
“It started out as a hobby and after 7 years, I finally decided to count it”, he said.
As a reward for himself, he then decided to buy an iPhone 14 without any instalment and saved the rest into his bank. When asked if he would save again using the same method, he answered saying that he wouldn’t as it was a tedious process.
Well done for saving over RM5,000 in 7 years just with coins, it’s definitely an amazing story to share!
