One of the only constants in life that we can all come to expect, is that it will always come with its ups and downs. But what’s most important is that we always remember to put our best foot forward and persevere through the trials and tribulations, while remembering that things will turn out for the better in the end. And in the case of 17-year-old Singaporean Zoe Gabriel and her Charles & Keith bag, that has proven to be most definitely the case!
SG teen goes viral for speaking on class disparity & privilege over Charles & Keith bag
Nearing the end of last year, the teenaged social media user had caught the attention of a global audience when she took to her social media accounts to share the enthusiasm and excitement she had for a Charles & Keith tote bag that was gifted to her from her father.
Through an unboxing video, she could be seen visibly elated as she tore away pieces of packaging, before finally laying eyes on the black tote bag that she coveted so much. And while many had congratulated her on her gift, some others have taken to mocking Zoe for describing the tote bag as being a ‘luxury’, as the brand catered to the more affordable end of the fashion spectrum.
Gained a legion of fans online, and now stars in AirAsia videos!
Following that, Zoe proceeded to then film a subsequent video to address the criticisms levelled against her, and spoke at length about her family’s humble beginnings, their struggle emigrating from the Philippines into Singapore, as well as class disparity and privilege. The elocution and poise she expressed in addressing such a sensitive topic at her age has since won her legions of fans who praised her for her courage in speaking out.
Since then, she has quickly earned a reputation for herself as a content creator, having been tapped as one of the latest faces to join Charles & Keith’s recent International Women’s Day campaign. But the good news doesn’t just stop there, as she is now soaring to new heights after working with Malaysian low-cost carrier AirAsia on a series of new content bits as well!
In a TikTok video that was shared to the company’s corporate account, Zoe stars in a series of three videos, each promoting a different aspect of the company’s flight services.
The first video sees her dancing with members of crew as well as two pilots, while the second features Zoe in the company’s signature red uniform issued to all air stewardesses.
A third video has Zoe rating the in-flight meals that are served on AirAsia flights, including their signature Pak Nassir’s Nasi Lemak, which she rates 9 out of 10.
The trio of clips have since been warmly received by social media users, many of whom congratulated Zoe on her latest venture with the airline company.
Others have commended AirAsia for showing support to Zoe.
Congratulations, Zoe! Here’s to even bigger and better things to come!
