With that said, over the years, plenty of Malaysians would have the opportunity to step into interracial marriages, further promoting the significance of harmony and understanding of each ethnicity’s culture.
Menteri Besar Negeri Sembilan highlights the importance of understanding each other’s culture
Just over the weekend, Menteri Besar Negeri Sembilan, YAB Dato’ Seri Haji Aminuddin Bin Harun has shared several pictures that showcased the wedding of his daughter. In his post, it can be seen that the marriage ceremony for his daughter was held in two ways, with both the ceremonies following the traditional customs of their own ethnicity.
The bride and groom were seen going through the tea ceremony, a traditional custom followed by the Chinese to honour and respect their parents. The bride was seen wearing a beautiful traditional Chinese bridal attire while proceeding with the tea ceremony. Following that, the couple then proceeded with the nikah ceremony with the groom wearing a well-tailored Baju Melayu.
YAB Dato’ Seri Haji Aminuddin Bin Harun then shared how grateful he is to be able to experience and take part in his daughter’s wedding that features two different cultures. In his post he said,
“When two people of different backgrounds come together, it does not only bring happiness but also highlights how unique and beautiful our cultures are. I’m grateful that I’m able to experience such uniqueness through my daughter’s marriage.”
